Maine Prep SAT Student, Michael Girouard, Awarded Presidential Scholar

Brunswick, ME (PRWEB) May 20, 2009 -- Michael Girouard, a senior at St. Dominic Regional High School in Auburn, Maine, has been awarded Presidential Scholar, the highest honor the Department of Education gives to one boy and one girl from each state.

More than 3,000 students were invited to apply to become Presidential Scholars, chosen on the basis of their SAT scores.

Girouard prepared for the SAT and SAT Subject Tests with Maine Prep (http://www.maineprep.com), Maine's leading test prep company, studying privately with master teacher, Susan Wong.

On his SAT, Girouard earned a score of 2,260 out of a possible 2,400. He also earned perfect scores on chemistry and math SAT Subject Tests and a near-perfect score on the history SAT Subject Test.

Upcoming Maine Prep SAT prep classes begin June 18 in Cape Elizabeth, July 1 in Bangor, and July 28 in Brunswick. In addition, Maine Prep has trained teachers at high schools in Cape Elizabeth, Monmouth, and Lewiston; those schools currently help their students improve SAT scores using Maine Prep's TEN FOR TEN curriculum. A special 5-day teacher-training course begins July 10 in Brunswick.
